The United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation congratulates the inaugural recipients of the newly established USET Foundation Performance Pathway Jumping Grant on their performances at the Gotham North/FEI North American Youth Jumping Championships (NAYC) presented by USHJA in Traverse City, MI, on July 29 through August 3, 2025. The grant is awarded to promising young jumping athletes to help offset costs associated with participating in select US Equestrian (USEF) High Performance Jumping Programs.
As the philanthropic partner to USEF, the USET Foundation’s sole mission is to ensure athletes and horses participating in USEF High Performance Programs have the resources necessary to achieve and maintain podium placings on the greatest international stages. Integral to this effort is supporting talented young athletes progressing along USEF’s High Performance Pathway. This year, four up-and-coming jumping athletes — Honor Coulter, Haley Honegger, Khloe Kerins, and Taylor Kamataris – received grants to support their journeys to NAYC. Offering a major show atmosphere designed to mirror a senior championships experience, NAYC is an important event for young North American athletes that aspire to represent their country at the highest levels.
USET Foundation Executive Director Bonnie B. Jenkins said, “I’m thrilled that the USET Foundation’s Performance Pathway Jumping Grant Program was able to support the aspirations of these talented young riders. Supporting these athletes on their competitive journey is a pivotal investment in the future of this sport and in the champions of tomorrow.”
Khloe Kerins Scores Double Gold
Riding in the Children’s division, the 14-year-old from Wellington, FL, made a remarkable NAYC debut. Riding Darragh Kerins’ 14-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Small Change, Kerins helped her Zone 4 team capture the gold medal, going on to repeat the podium-topping feat in the individual competition — an exciting example of how the USET Foundation Performance Pathway Jumping Grant helps rising stars pursue their dreams.
Across the five jumping rounds that made up the team and individual competitions, Kerins and Small Change remained fault-free.
The USET Foundation also celebrates the successes of Honor Coulter, Haley Honegger, and Taylor Kamataris.
Coulter was awarded a team silver medal with Zone 9/10, also in the Children’s division. She and her horse Clark were clear in the second round of the team competition to help them secure the podium spot.
Riding as an individual for Zone 3, Taylor Kamataris and her own Las Vegas qualified for the final, while Haley Honegger rode Wilde Hilde, owned by Alexia Honegger, and contributed to her Zone 8 team after her horse overcame two major health issues. Read about Honegger’s journey to NAYC with Wilde Hilde here.
The USET Foundation Performance Pathway Jumping Grant Program is made possible thanks to the generosity of Dr. Jennifer Gates Nassar, Nayel Nassar, and their team at Evergate Stables.
