Dublin, Ireland – July 23, 2016 – Lauren Hough took home the second place honors in the JLT Dublin Stakes during the Dublin Horse Show on Saturday for the United States. She piloted Waterford to a double clear effort, just narrowly missing the leader’s time with the 13-year-old KWPN gelding owned by Laura & Meredith Mateo.
Audrey Coulter also qualified with the jump-off with Copernicus Stables’ Alex, also producing a double clear round early in the order to place eighth. Georgina Bloomberg and Crown 5, owned by Gotham Enterprizes, rounded out the top 10 with a faultless effort during the tiebreaker.
Earlier in the day, Jessica Springsteen and Davendy S, owned by Stone Hill Farm, were the top placed Americans in the Gambler’s Choice event. They earned 65 points in a time of 47.56 seconds for the fifth place honors.
Coulter also accumulated 65 points with Copernicus Stables’ Capital Colnardo, stopping the clock at 62.74 seconds for another eighth place ribbon. Bloomberg also finished in the top 12 aboard Gotham Enterprizes’s Balou, earning 59 points in 73.61 seconds.
The U.S. athletes will now look ahead to Sunday’s main event, the Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland.
