Aachen Germany – July 17, 2016 – Team USA Dressage riders produced two strong tests to place in the top ten with scores above 75 percent on Sunday in the Grand Prix Freestyle to Music.
Steffen Peters rode Four Winds Farm LLC’s Legolas 92 to a fifth place finish with a score of 79.30 percent finishing just behind a strong German contingent that took the top three places with scores exceeding 85 percent.
The other American entry in the field of 16 for the musical freestyle was Shelly Francis and Patricia A. Stempel’s Doktor. The pair finished in tenth place with a score of 75.425. Tuny Page and Woodstock elected not to compete in the Freestyle. Katherine Bateson-Chandler had withdrawn her mount Alcazar from the competition on Friday due to colic. The 11-year-old KWPN gelding underwent surgery and is reported to be recovering well.
