Aachen, Germany – July 17, 2016 – The Grand Prix of Aachen is a coveted title by show jumping athletes around the world. In 2016, the track proved to be very daunting, with no riders producing double clear efforts during the CSIO5* event at the CHIO Aachen.
McLain Ward and HH Azur, owned by Double H Farm & Francois Mathy, were the top placed Americans, earning four faults in the first round, but returning for the second round to be clear with a quick time of 74. 15 seconds for sixth place.
Fellow U.S. athlete Beezie Madden and Cortes ‘C’, owned by Abigail Wexner, had a similar day, incurring four faults during the first round, but returning for a faultless second round. The pair was just 2/10ths of a second slower than Ward and HH Azur, crossing the finish line in 74.32 seconds for seventh place.
