The U.S. Equestrian Team Is Set to Seek Gold in Peru this Summer

After long months of preparation, our athletes and horses are ready for the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru where big competition awaits.

It’s an exciting summer for the athletes and fans of high-performance equestrian sport.

Although the Dressage and Show Jumping Teams have already qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, the competition will give our Eventing Team a second chance to qualify for the Games next summer.

Though the pressure is mounting for your Eventing Team, they’re more than up for the challenge. Your 2019 Pan American Eventing Team includes Boyd Martin with Tsetserleg, Doug Payne with Starr Witness, Tamie Smith with Fleeceworks Royal, and Lynn Symansky with RF Cool Play. The Eventing portion of the Pan American Games takes place August 2–4 at the Escuela de Equitación del Ejército La Molina in Lima.

Just a few days later, August 6–9, the Show Jumping Team will take to the arena in hopes of improving on their 2015 Team Bronze medal performance! This year’s Team includes Alex Granato with Carlchen W, Eve Jobs with Venue d’Fees des Hazalles, Beezie Madden with Breitling LS, and McLain Ward with Contagious.

Last, but not least, the U.S. Dressage Team will trot down the centerline to defend their Team Gold. Since the Dressage Team has already qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, this year’s team was selected from the “Small Tour” horse and rider combinations, up-and-coming athletes that are not quite as seasoned as some of the names you know but they’re ready for their turn in the spotlight. Your 2019 Pan American Games Dressage Team will be Nora Batchelder with Faro SQF, Jennifer Baumert with Handsome, Sarah Lockman with First Apple and finally, Endel Oats with Lucky Strike.

Team USA needs your support every step of the way. From their first night in Lima acclimating to a new country until they board the plane to come home, they need you! Are you ready to cheer them on?
