Millstreet, Ireland – The U.S. Eventing Squad, featuring four combinations competing as a team, and two individuals, finished the dressage phase today at the 2026 FEI Eventing World Championship U25 in Millstreet, Ireland. The team held first on Thursday and moved to fourth following the second day of dressage. They will head into cross-country on a team total of 97.1. Cassie Sanger and Fernhill Zoro secured the highest individual placing on the leaderboard for the U.S. contingent, currently holding sixth following dressage.
“We’ve had two days of dressage and yesterday we felt was a very good day. It’s less than ten points between the teams and there’s a very influential cross-country course to come,” said Chef d’Equipe Leslie Law. “Time will play a big part, so we’re excited about tomorrow and looking forward to a very good, competitive day for this group.”
The first phase of dressage was split across two days of competition, with four U.S. combinations competing yesterday and the final two today before the judging panel. For the team, Quidley Kellermann (Wimberley, Texas) and Blakeneys Cruise, her own 2017 Irish Sport Horse gelding (FSS Correlli Bravo x Cruising) cared for by Jade Rudman, led the team on the first day, earning a 33.6 for a very polished and consistent test. Meg Pellegrini (Malvern, Pa.) and Dondante, a 2010 Irish Sport Horse gelding (Pachio x Euro Clover), owned by Team Rebecca, LLC, and cared for by Sarah Rupert, were the second combination to put forward a score for the team, receiving a 33.3, which is a personal best for the pair at the CCI4* level.
Jack Curtis (Beverly, Mass.) and Luska Candy Clover, a 2013 Irish Sport Horse gelding (Sligo Candy Boy x White Clover), owned by Betsy Curtis and cared for by Jason Wood, competing as individuals, finished the first phase with a 35.2, just sitting outside of the top twenty for 22nd overall in the standings after dressage. Molly Duda (Menlo Park, Calif.) and Disco Traveler, her own 2010 Oldenburg gelding (Donatelli x Unknown) and cared for by Carine Wancowicz, also competing as an individual combination representing the U.S., finished their test with a score of 35.6 penalties looking ahead to cross-country.
On the final day of dressage competition, Olivia Dutton (West Grove, Pa.) and Jewelent, a 2012 Irish Sport Horse gelding (Valent x Roselier), owned by the Jewelent Group, and cared for by Emma Tuit, were the third pair to head down the centerline to produce a team score, earning a 35.8 for their work in the arena. The anchor combination of Cassie Sanger (Wilmington, Del.) and Fernhill Zoro, her own 2008 Irish Sport Horse gelding (Verdi TN x Voltaire) cared for by Meigs Rutherford, left the best for last, delivering a beautiful, relaxed test to receive a 30.2, to keep the team in the hunt, and placing themselves sixth individually with two more phases to come.
Competition Information
The cross-country phase is set to kick off on Saturday, July 25, at 12:00 p.m. GMT+1/7:00 a.m. EST. Competition will conclude on Sunday, July 26, with the show jumping phase set to begin at 2:00 p.m. GMT+1/9:00 a.m. EST, crowning both team and individual champions.
